Hello there!
My name is Cary Abramson, I use he/him/his pronouns, and as of the time of writing this I'm 26 years old. I founded Zodiac Filmworks and Mass Media Productions in 2024 with a dream to create and a drive for perfection.
If that's all you're here for, thanks for stopping by! If you wanna learn a little more about me, then read on.
My Story
I was born in a place called Boca Raton, Florida, and spent the first two years of my life in the town immediately north, Delray Beach. It was just me, my mom and dad, and our beloved family pets. When I was two years old, we left Florida and headed to New York. There's a lot of reasons why we did this, but a good amount of them had to do with schooling a young child with Autism and ADHD - and thank goodness my parents thought of that when they did!
Most of my childhood was in a place called Cortlandt Manor, in Westchester County, New York. I went to the Lakeland Central School District, and despite my challenges and disabilities, I had a wonderful education and made a lot of friends. So, in short, a pretty good childhood. I graduated in 2018 from Walter Panas High School, and went to Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York. Truth be told...not for me. So, I left.
I tried SUNY Potsdam again the following fall, after moving to my current home in Dutchess County that July. And as much as I loved it, being in Potsdam confirmed my feelings from Crane. So, I transferred to Dutchess Community College, and it was going great. I had lovely professors, made a group of friends, everything was coming up Cary.
And then, that exact semester, the pandemic hit.
The next couple of years are admittedly a bit of a blur for me, but I somehow found myself in the Digital Media Production program at SUNY New Paltz. And once again, I was having the time of my life. Being there really opened up my eyes to the world of screenwriting, and videography, and pre-production and post-production stuff.
Since graduating college in 2024, I've devoted myself to bettering this little idea for a business, and it's been a great success so far. I'm so excited to see where my life takes me next, and thanks to Zodiac Filmworks and Mass Media Productions, I truly think that the sky's the limit.

The Beginning of Zodiac Filmworks
My first concepts of Zodiac Filmworks and Mass Media Productions, including the name, came around in early 2020. At that time, I kind of knew that I needed some sort of production company in order to make any sort of a name for myself in this industry, but I had no idea where it was going to go. Eventually, after much deliberation over the little pieces of how this whole thing was gonna work, I settled on a strategy:
I know that I'm good with video and photo and audio capture, but there's a lot of other production studios who do that.
If I want to stick out, why don't I focus on pre and post production?
And that's where this nugget of a company comes from.
Since my founding of this company, I've done music videos and concert films, posters and podcast logos, I've worked with non-profits and local families; I've even photographed a proposal, and I hope to do it again!
